The Coppini Academy strives to provide the best learning environment possible.  The information presented on this page will provide many of the answers to common questions.  If you have further questions or comments, please contact the Workshop Committee.  All workshops take place at the Coppini Academy’s Elizabeth di Barbieri Gallery.  The typical start time for most workshops is 8:30 am and most are wrapped up by 4:00 pm.  A full kitchen is available for those students who wish to pack a lunch.   The facility is handicap accessible and smoking is permitted only in designated spots outdoors.

To equally protect the instructor, student, and the CAFA, the following policy has been instituted regarding workshop enrollment, deposits, refunds, and cancellations.

A $100 deposit is collected at the time of enrollment.  To enroll, an applicant must have a credit card, debit card, or bank account to process payment.  No payments will be accepted by mail. This $100 deposit is non-refundable. A receipt and workshop packet (including supply list) will be e-mailed to your email address indicated during enrollment unless you request a mailed copy.

If the workshop is full and you wish to be placed on the Waiting List, a $100 deposit will be collected.  This deposit is refundable unless you are moved to the Active List.  If you are moved to the Active List, you will be notified immediately email. Your balance will be due 30 days prior to the workshop.  If you decline to be moved to the Active List at any time, the $100 deposit is non-refundable.  The Waiting List for a workshop will cease at 30 days prior to workshop and all refunds will be issued at that time.

Any enrollee on the Active List who drops 45 days prior to workshop will be refunded any amount paid less their $100 deposit as long as their slot is filled. If the cancellation occurs after the 45 days prior to workshop, money will not be refunded since it will be impossible to fill the slot.  All payments must be received before 45 days of the start of the workshop or you will forfeit your slot and $100 deposit.

If the workshop is cancelled by the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts, all money will be refunded.

Tony Pro Portrait Workshop
November 7 - 9, 2014

It will start with an instructor painting demo followed by students working from the live model. This workshop’s emphasis will be on the various techniques of alla prima painting used to create a solid foundation of the human head and figure and how to create a likeness of the person sitting for you.  Tony Pro grew up in Southern California under the guidance of his father, Julio Pro, a successful southwest wildlife painter. Pro received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from California State University, Northridge while simultaneously studying drawing with famed illustrator, Glen Orbik. Pro embraces romanticism in painting which places the feelings of the artist above all.
